Get PDF
Data integration is important in consolidating all the data in the organization or outside the organization to provide a unified view of the organization's information. Extraction Transformation Load (ETL) solution is the back-end process of data integration which involves collecting data from various data sources, preparing and transforming the data according to business requirements and loading them into a Data Warehouse (DW). This paper explains the integration of the rubber import and export data between Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) and Royal Malaysian Customs Department (Customs) using the ETL solution. Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft SQL Server Agent Jobs have been used as the ETL tool and ETL scheduling

A wide range of fatty acid esters can be synthesized by esterification and transesterification reactions catalyzed by lipases in non-aqueous systems. In the present study, immobilization of a purified alkaline extra-cellular lipase of Bacillus cereus MTCC 8372 by adsorption on diatomaceous earth (celite) for synthesis of ethyl acetate via transesterification route was investigated. B. cereus lipase was deposited on celite (77% protein binding efficiency) by direct binding from aqueous solution. Immobilized lipase was used to synthesis of ethyl acetate from vinyl acetate and ethanol in n -nonane. Various reaction conditions, such as biocatalyst concentration, substrates concentration, choices of solvents ( n -alkanes), incubation time, temperature, molecular sieves (3Å × 1.5 mm), and water activity(a w ), were optimized. The immobilized lipase (25 mg/ml) was used to perform transesterification in n -alkane(s) that resulted in approximately 73.7 mM of ethyl acetate at 55 °C in n -nonane under shaking (160 rpm) after 15 h, when vinyl acetate and ethanol were used in a equimolar ratio (100 mM each). Addition of molecular sieves (3Å × 1.5 mm) as well as effect of water activity of saturated salt solutions (KI, KCl and KNO 3 ) to the transesterification efficiency has inhibitory effect. Batch operational stability tests indicated that immobilized lipase had retained 50% of its original catalytic activity after four consecutive batches of 15 h each.<br /

Available techniques in hadoop small file issue

Hadoop is an optimal solution for big data processing and storing since being released in the late of 2006, hadoop data processing stands on master-slaves manner [1] that’s splits the large file job into several small files in order to process them separately, this technique was adopted instead of pushing one large file into a costly super machine to insights some useful information. Hadoop runs very good with large file of big data, but when it comes to big data in small files it could facing some problems in performance, processing slow down, data access delay, high latency and up to a completely cluster shutting down [2]. In this paper we will high light on one of hadoop’s limitations, that’s affects the data processing performance, one of these limits called “big data in small files” accrued when a massive number of small files pushed into a hadoop cluster which will rides the cluster to shut down totally. This paper also high light on some native and proposed solutions for big data in small files, how do they work to reduce the negative effects on hadoop cluster, and add extra performance on storing and accessing mechanism

Microbial lipases : at the interface of aqueous and non-aqueous media: a review

In recent times, biotechnological applications of microbial lipases in synthesis of many organic molecules have rapidly increased in non-aqueous media. Microbial lipases are the working horses\u27 in biocatalysis and have been extensively studied when their exceptionally high stability in non-aqueous media has been discovered. Stability of lipases in organic solvents makes them commercially feasibile in the enzymatic esterification reactions. Their stability is affected by temperature, reaction medium, water concentration and by the biocatalyst\u27s preparation. An optimization process for ester synthesis from pilot scale to industrial scale in the reaction medium is discussed. The water released during the esterification process can be controlled over a wide range and has a profound effect on the activity of the lipases. Approaches to lipase catalysis like protein engineering, directed evolution and metagenome approach were studied. This review reports the recent development in the field of non-aqueous microbial lipase catalysis and factors controlling the esterification/transesterification processes in organic media

Social media is now very popular among's the people. Like the mass media, social media can also disseminate information to the public in general. One of social media is currently popular it's news portals. This type of social media offer new information presented in the online form on a website. GoRiau.com is one of the leading news portal in Province of Riau. The further development of today's technology raises many new news portal. To competition, GoRiau.com through keredaksiannya face has a strategy to attract the requested read on social media. For this reason, this research is focused on the function of management on news portals GoRiau.com and what factors attract interest in reading to know. This research applies qualitative method with descriptive approach undertaken in GoRiau.com news portal, Sudirman streets No. 125 South Tangkerang, Bukitraya, Pekanbaru. Subjects of study include general chairman, chief editor, managing editor, and two journalists, as well as some of those readers who are determined through purposive method. Data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this study show that first, the management function in the editorial GoRiau.com news portal in an effort to attract interest in reading. GoRiau.com implement a planning that is done in three forms of the editorial meeting, which includes the planning meeting news content, placement planning meeting journalists, as well as evaluation. As for organizing, Goriau.com have determined the distribution of every reporter in accordance with the coverage of each post with the granting of work specified. Continue, regarding the actuating of the starting material coverage of news, collecting, writing, editing news on the website to which this form of utilization of new media. Form of controlling carried GoRiau.com one of which is the evaluation of the work, but other than that GoRiau.com also open a service complaint to the reader via e-mail. Second, the factors that attract interest in reading on this portal ie, interest, experience the same, and information needs. The entire series of the process is a form of editorial managerial done in order to attract readers

Security Safeguards on E-Payment Systems in Malaysia: Analysis on the Payment Systems Act 2003

Central to the infrastructure of electronic commerce activities is the electronic payment system. This encompasses not only the issues of technical sophistication but also legal readiness. In the context of electronic commerce environment in Malaysia, this paper seeks to highlight and examine the Malaysian legal readiness in the aspect of electronic payment system, focusing on its Payment Systems Act 2003. The discussion is limited to the issue of electronic security measures embodied in the law. Within its restricted scope, this paper seeks to demonstrate how the law recognizes the importance of security measures in order to build confidence and trust among the public and mainly the users of electronic payments in the country.

Network insights on oxaliplatin anti-cancer mechanisms

Abstract Oxaliplatin has been a crucial component of combination therapies since admission into the clinic causing modest gains in survival across multiple malignancies. However, oxaliplatin functions in a non-targeted manner, posing a difficulty in ascertaining precise efficacy mechanisms. While previously thought to only affect DNA repair mechanisms, Platinum-protein adducts (Pt-Protein) far outnumber Pt-DNA adducts leaving a big part of oxaliplatin function unknown. Through preliminary network modeling of high throughput data, this article critically reviews the efficacy of oxaliplatin as well as proposes a better model for enhanced efficacy based on a network approach. In our study, not only oxaliplatin’s function in interrupting DNA-replication was confirmed, but also its role in initiating or intensifying tumorigenesis pathways was uncovered. From our data we present a novel picture of competing signaling networks that collectively provide a plausible explanation of chemotherapeutic resistance, cancer stem cell survival, as well as invasiveness and metastases. Here we highlight oxaliplatin signaling networks, their significance and the clinical implications of these interactions that verifies the importance of network modeling in rational drug design
